Scent mAster and Kynose kindly invite you to participate in two intensive Hard Surface Tracking and Discrimination Seminars with Ilkka Hormila.Due to huge interest, we organize two seminars one after another:
Group A: Friday-Saturday (22-23 March)
Group B: Sunday-Monday (24-25 March)
This time, we will work in small groups of six dogs (plus observers).
You can register for one group or for both groups. If you want to participate with your dog - we recommend that you register for one group as a dog handler and for the other group as an observer.
Participation as dog handler in both seminars may be possible, depending on availability of free spots.
We also kindly invite participants to an online webinar with Ilkka on 13 February (Tuesday), 18:00-21:00 Warsaw time

Ilkka Hormila is undoubtedly one of the most recognized and acclaimed K9 scent work experts in the world. For 40 years, he served as an operational K9 handler and instructor at the Finnish Police Dog Training Centre. He trained dogs for all types of scent-work, including: tracking, area search, explosives, arson and cadaver detection dogs. Ilkka Hormila is an internationally respected lecturer and trainer among the Police, military and SAR-dog handlers. He works all over Europe and in Asia and with his extremely busy schedule he decided to come to Poland for the third time to offer a tracking seminar. Ilkka created the first comprehensive system for human scent discrimination combined with hard surface tracking that inspired many instructors over the world to develop similar protocols.
During the seminar, advanced teams will practice skills that build up the capacity of real-life operational K9. The program of the seminar will be based on the evaluation system here: https://tinyurl.com/tracking-exam and adapted to the participants' needs.
The course is open to participants from different countries:
* for dog trainers experienced in other types of scent work who want to extend their portfolio,
* for service K9 instructors (and handlers) who want to learn the efficient and thoroughly tested system of training hard surface ID-tracking dogs and systematic, effective protocol for scent disrimination
* for mantrailing and tracking enthusiasts who want to learn from (one of) the best instructors in the world
* priority will be given to Police and military handlers, licenced members of Polish and foreign SAR groups, participants of previous seminars with Ilkka Hormila, advanced tracking teams, Scent mAster and Kynose club members
The number of spots is limited. Registered candidates will be invited to join the course based on their level of proficiency in tracking.
Due to international interest, the seminar will be held in English. Please contact us if you need Polish translation - we will see if it is possible.
