About this Event
We are thrilled to announce Canada's jazz powerhouse, the Hard Rubber Orchestra's concert of new work by three Canadian composers: New York-based Anna Webber, Copenhagen-based Matt Choboter and Vancouver resident Noah Franche-Nolan.
Anna Webber (Canada/US, b.1984) is one of the brightest stars in the global jazz and new music realm. In 2024, she received the Herb Alpert Award in the Arts, a Chamber Music America New Jazz Works commission, and was voted top of both the tenor saxophone and flute "Rising Star" categories in the Downbeat Critic's Poll.
Matt Choboter (Canada/Denmark, b.1982) is a visionary composer and pianist whose music has been described as “ephemeral and beautifully fragile”.
Rounding out this outstanding program is the brilliant young Juno-nominated Vancouver composer and pianist Noah Franche-Nolan (Canada, b.1997).
