About this Event
Craft a beautifl album using the traditional Japanese Stab binding technique.
Learn how to cut boards and cover them with book-cloth to make you album covers.
If you wish to bring some natural fibre cloth (with or without hand embroidery) to mak e your own book-cloth this can be accomodated. Please let Tamsin know in advance if you intend to tak up this option.
While these rest under weights you have time to create your pages.
In the afternoon we will use a template to set up sewing holes in the pages and covers.
Then you will learn how to bind the album using a traditional Stab Binding.
Y our tutor is Tamsin Loveday who has successfully facilitated creative workshops for more than 14 years. She graduated with BA Hons Fine Art Printmaking in 2009 and has been making books for far longer than that. Tamsin believes in the wellbeing benefit of creative activity for everyone and is a trained Mental Health First Aider.
The event is hosted in the dedicated workshop studio, upstairs at the award winning arts space, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury. Refreshments are available from the cafe where participants can benefit from a generous 20% discount on lunches.
