Join us for a discussion diving into the real impact of streaming on artists and audiences.
About this Event

Algorithms decide a lot about what we listen to, and who actually gets heard. Streaming has opened doors for artists and audiences alike, but it’s also raised some big questions: Who’s getting paid? Who’s getting discovered? And how do we move beyond the algorithm in 2025?

Join us for a night that kicks off with a free open bar happy hour from 6-7pm, followed by a panel from 7-8pm. We’ll dive into the real impact of streaming on artist income and visibility, how recommendation engines shape music discovery, and the creative ways both artists and fans are finding music off-platform.

Featuring:

  • , journalist, critic, and author of Mood Machine: The Rise of Spotify and the Costs of the Perfect Playlist
  • , co-founder, editor, and writer at Hearing Things Co.
  • , Artistic Director of Performance Space and Musician of L’Rain
  • , artist, writer, and co-editor of GUNK Magazine
  • Moderated by , researcher and consultant
