It is June 1906, Mr and Mrs Reid have invited their friends, Mr George Monkton and his wife Marguerite Marigold, the respected musician and composer, to stay for the weekend as both couples celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary this year. Mrs Reid is also an accomplished musician, and they plan to hold a piano recital. Can Mr Barton, Mrs Reid’s brother, be persuaded to sing an accompaniment? After all he did give the piano to his sister as a wedding present! Meanwhile, Cook is having some trouble with the celebratory cake …….! Edinburgh Living History is a group of costumed interpreters who bring the castle to life through performances of scenes from Edwardian life.
Edinburgh Living History are our multi award- winning team, who interpret the history of the castle in a variety of entertaining ways in Edwardian costume - bringing alive the history of the house. Each performance is carefully devised by Edinburgh Living History to be as historically accurate as possible and include a touch of drama and a soupcon of humour. You will walk through the Castle on a special tour watching the performance unfold. Why not make a day of it at Lauriston and have some lunch at Mimi’s café on site.
