A Hapé Ceremony & Woodland Walk - Stilling Basin, Blue Marsh Lake
Join us for a guided nature experience that blends gentle movement, time in the woods, and a traditional ceremonial practice.
Hapé (pronounced ha-peh) is a sacred Amazonian plant medicine traditionally prepared and served by Indigenous tribes of the Amazon basin. It is a finely ground herbal snuff made from Nicotiana rustica (mapacho tobacco) and ashes of medicinal plants. For generations, it has been used ceremonially for prayer, grounding, clarity, energetic alignment, and connection to spirit.( A non-tobacco herbal version will also be available.)
In traditional settings, Hapé is shared with intention and reverence. It is not used recreationally, but rather as a sacred tool to help center the mind, release stagnant energy, and reconnect with the body, breath, and the Earth.
Many people describe the experience as deeply grounding and clarifying, helping them slow down, become present, and reset mentally and emotionally.
What to Expect
We will begin with a mindful walk through the woods, allowing the body to awaken and the nervous system to settle into the natural rhythm of the outdoors.
After arriving at our gathering spot, we will sit together in a quiet circle where participants may choose to receive Hapé in a respectful ceremonial setting. Participation in the ceremony is always optional.
Following the ceremony, we will spend time in silent reflection and integration before finishing our walk through the woods, moving with grounded awareness and connection.

This experience is designed to blend nature immersion, mindful movement, community, and sacred plant tradition in a supportive and intentional environment.
Respect & Safety
Hapé is a powerful traditional medicine and may not be appropriate for everyone. It is always served with care, consent, and respect for its Indigenous origins. Participants are encouraged to listen to their bodies and choose what feels aligned for them.
About the Medicine
The sacred medicine used for this ceremony has been ethically sourced from the Amazon rainforest through Earth’s Love Snuffs, a company committed to honoring and preserving the spiritual traditions of Indigenous cultures while offering high-quality ceremonial products. Their mission is to act as a bridge to these traditions while maintaining deep respect for the Earth and the cultures from which these medicines originate.
About the Facilitator
The ceremony will be facilitated by Laural Miller, owner of Shade Tree Embodied Wellness. Laural is an integrative practitioner who helps people reconnect with their mind, body, and spirit as a pathway to healing, resilience, and self-trust. She has trained under a certified facilitator who received permission from an Indigenous tribe to respectfully share this tradition.
!!This experience is open to those 18 years or older.
