Saturday the 6th of July, Bard's Apothecary plays host to two siren-voiced singer-songwriters - Hannah Potter and Pavani. You are invited to shake off the outside word and enter a warm, safe and delicate space. Opening the night at 8pm is Pavani - A rich tapestry of song and story, Sri Lankan-Australian alternative artist Pavani creates nuanced musical experiences in her vintage-inspired songwriting.
A product of her immigrant heritage as well as the culture of Melbourne city; existential themes, matters of the heart, and raw reflective emotion are set at the core of her music. Spinning together the likes of Matt Maltese, Florence & The Machine and Lior into a sound all her own, Pavani's message is imbued with the value of art and the beauty of life's quiet moments.
Haunting, hypnotic pixie-voiced Hannah Potter creates songs out of memories and experiences that she would rather forget. She takes inspiration from the front bars of Melbourne's pubs where she grew up, the characters that filled her scrappy early years in the mountains of Colorado, and the picked-apart left behind people that tend to seek her out and tell her their stories. Crafting songs that attempt to give something soft back, Hannah creates warm safe spaces for people to seek refuge.
This is a FREE event, taking place on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
