Have you wondered what hummingbird nest looks like, how many young they raise or what flowers attract them? Allen Chartier, Michigan’s hummingbird expert, will answer these questions and more during an indoor "Hummingbirds of the Great Lakes" program, followed by an outdoor banding program. During banding, hummingbirds are captured and banded for science, allowing participants an up close look at these unique birds. Mr. Chartier will discuss his research compiled from banding hummingbirds for over 25 years. Meet at the Visitor Center.Funding for Hanging Out with Hummingbirds is provided by Andy and Donna Rapp.
