The class project is a Sea Scout Ditty Pouch that employs most of the handwork skills and techniques involved in making a ditty bag, duffel bag or hammock; but, is doable in an afternoon.
The workshop will be led by Emiliano Marino, sailor, traditional sailmaker, author of The Sailmaker’s Apprentice and co-founder of The Artful Sailor Whole Earth Nautical Supply & Sail Exchange, in Port Townsend. He will be ably assisted by CWB volunteer, Dee Bayley.
Cost: $325 (CWB Members) - $375 (non-members)
Price includes: Tuition, cloth, seaming twine, sail needle, and sailmaker’s beeswax.
Tools Required: Sailmaker’s palm, bench hook and fid. Please bring your own or specify in advance your need to borrow or purchase, hook, fid, and palm (right or left handed).
