This summer, we’re bringing art, history, and community together...and you’re invited to take part! The Hands That Make US is a collaborative public art project traveling to festivals and events across our region in 2026. Each participating town is paired with an artist who is creating a unique painting inspired by a local story; whether it’s a historic event, a landmark, or a person who helped shape the community.
At this festival, you’ll have the chance to literally leave your mark by adding your painted handprint to the artwork! Guided by the artist, your handprint will become part of the final design, woven into the background or imagery of the piece.
All ages are welcome, this is a hands-on, family-friendly experience that celebrates creativity and connection. Come contribute, connect, and be part of something lasting. Your handprint will help tell our shared story.
📍 Stop by our booth at the festival!!
This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts
