Hands On: Hypertufa Trough Project

Learn how to make a hypertufa trough to showcase small plants with big personalities. This workshop will take you through the basics with lots of tips, suggestions and some pitfalls that can impact a project. You'll help mix up the components, form a container and prep it for curing. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a trough to take home. We'll provide curing instructions and tips on planting it out.

Items to bring to the workshop:

· A STURDY plastic container that we'll use as the form for your trough: a plastic dishpan, plastic salad bowl or something similar. Nothing larger than a dishpan! The trough should be ready to unmold after 1 or 2 days and can then be sprayed with water and placed in a plastic bag for 1 month to cure

· Kitchen gloves to protect your hands while molding the concrete mixture.

· An N-95 mask to protect you from inhaling concrete dust while mixing.

· Plastic bag large enough to comfortably contain your trough.

Cost per Person: $20 for members/ $25 for non-members.
