Want to support civic engagement in a meaningful way—without necessarily being front-facing? Hands On Democracy is an interactive event where you can learn about voting, hear from local leadership, and contribute to real Get Out The Vote efforts.
From voter education to hands-on activities like assembling outreach toolkits and creating materials used at community events, this is your chance to make a direct impact.
Food and drinks will be provided.
What to Expect
🗳️Voter Education Workshop (1:30–2:45 PM)
Learn about voting rights, what’s on your ballot, and take part in an interactive experience featuring the historic Louisiana Literacy Test.

🎨Hands-On Activities (3:00–5:30 PM)
- Button making
- Voter toolkit assembly
- Craft prep for community outreach
Your work will be used in real outreach efforts across the community.
