About this Event
Discover the art of Sogetsu Ikebana, a modern Japanese approach to Japanese flower arranging that values creativity, balance, and personal expression. Sogetsu emphasizes “using what you have,” encouraging students to work with everyday materials, seasonal flowers, and natural elements found around them. In this class, students will learn basic Sogetsu principles and techniques while creating simple, elegant arrangements, and each student will take their finished arrangement home. No prior experience is necessary.
Meet the Instructor!
Sandy Gossman has been a flower show judge for garden clubs and fairs since 1998 and began teaching floral design in 2000. During the COVID pandemic in 2020, she expanded her practice by studying Sogetsu Ikebana through Zoom with an instructor based in Belgium, deepening her appreciation for both traditional and contemporary floral art.
