Rue Pigalle, a travel and events-based community for women patrons of craft, invites female-identifying craft patrons to join a day of craft exploration in the beautiful and vibrant city of Montreal, celebrating the city's rich tapestry of cultural diversity expressed through the hands of its makers. This immersive itinerary is designed for those impassioned by Canadian craftsmanship heritage and the powerful role of women in craft.
May 1st will be a hands-on affair – quite literally. Embroidery ceramics paper leather – these are not materials to merely observe; they demand to be touched traced and explored with fingertips. There’s something deeply human about them shaped and sculpted by the maker’s bare hands – skin meeting substance in an intimate act of creation.
The day unfolds in the most immersive way possible: studio-hopping from one creative enclave to another meeting four remarkable female artisans in their natural habitats. There’s no better way to experience a craft than by watching its maker at work tools in hand utterly in their element. Join Rue Pigalle to visit innovative designers and artisans gaining insight into their creative process stories and inspirations.
Midday we’ll pause for a light lunch together at a local restaurant before continuing our rich agenda of studio visits. Lunch is included in the price.
Bookings are open to all adult female-identifying patrons of craft.
