Hand Sewn Textile Artwork Class with Dee PetitLearn simple hand stitching techniques by following along with our tutor, Dee Petits’ guidance. This course has been designed to help people who have little sewing experience or are new to sewing that wish to learn basic hand sewing techniques and stitches through creating textile art projects. Students will choose materials for each project from recycled textiles, felt, lace, buttons and ribbons. You will learn how to cut out patterns, make patterns and stitch together small handsewn art projects that represent a flair of your creative artist expression.
The first week we will be sewing a felted heart with buttons, beads and ribbons of your choice. Second week we will create a handsewn felt pin cushion to store your sewing needles. Our third project we will create a small tote bag to carry your sewing bits and bobs in.
Sewn Textile Artist Dee Petit was born in the USA in a small town south of Detroit Michigan with creativity being a big part of her life. She has always been interested in many forms of art and for the past 13 years Dee has had a love affair with recycled textile art projects.
