Alan Smith and Richard Cohn are hosting a one-day "Hand -Plane Bootcamp" for any SFWG members that may be interested. It would be held at Alan's shop in South East Fort Lauderdale. The session would run from around 10:00am till whenever we finish. The session would cover:
Types of handplanes
Components of handplanes
Brief refresher on sharpening plane blades
Tuning up the planes
Using planes to flatten boards, square edges, etc.
Everyone is encouraged to bring their planes to the class, so they may be tuned and used. This will be completely hands-on practice for all.
