Half Day Rock Climbing Taster Experience

A perfect introduction to outdoor climbing – experience the thrill of real rock in the heart of the Peak District.
This half day climbing session is ideal if you’re keen to try outdoor climbing without committing to a full day. Whether you’re new to climbing or just curious to see what it’s like outside the climbing wall, this is a great chance to build confidence, pick up new skills, and enjoy time outdoors in a beautiful setting.
Led by experienced instructors, you'll be guided through everything you need to know – then spend the rest of the session climbing at your own pace, with support every step of the way.

What to Expect
We’ll meet at 9am or 1pm, depending on the session time, and walk to the crag together. Most of our sessions take place at Stanage Edge – one of the UK’s most famous climbing locations. We may sometimes choose a nearby venue depending on the weather or other local conditions, but it’ll always be close by.
Once at the crag, we’ll go through a full safety briefing and get you kitted up. You’ll be introduced to climbing equipment, rope systems, and belaying (holding the rope for your climbing partner), before moving on to climbing itself.
We’ll have a variety of climbs, with options for different ability levels. It’s all about having a go, learning at your own pace, and enjoying the experience. There’s no pressure to reach the top – but you might surprise yourself!
It’s a sociable session that works just as well for individuals and families as it does for small groups.
Our half day climbing experience is ideally combined with caving, abseiling, or weaselling to create a full day of adventure for those wanting to pack even more outdoor excitement into their visit.
