BONJOUR!! So, an comedy open mic in the heart of Colchester eh? Every 2nd and last Wednesday of the month eh?
Sounds snazzy as AF!!! Want to give stand up a try? Got some material you want to figure out? Fancy just sitting in on some funny business on a Wednesday evening? Well, do we have the perfect thing for you!! First timers, old timers, kitchen timers, all are welcome. There are only a few rules, please see below!!

1: If you are on time you will definitely get on stage, if you are late I make no promises.
2: Everyone gets up to 5 minutes. At 4:30 I will wave a light at you to wrap it up.
3: It’s a bringer. So, bring a non performer pal or two, or you will end up with a room full of comedians, which is fine until after a few weeks they have all heard your jokes!
4: Stay for the whole thing. Performers and their guests leaving early will be noted!
5: This is an open mic, the bar needs to make money for the show to survive. If you like being able to come to Coda and tell jokes, then consider having a drink there.
6: We're all in this together, support each comic while they are on stage. Show the same respect to each performer that you would like to be given while you are on stage. Put your notebook and your phone away!! (please).
7: It’s great to push boundaries, but be reasonable, this is an open mic night, not your Netflix special…..yet. Racism, homophobia, misogyny and punching down just aren’t funny.
8: I appreciate each comic that comes to the show and I'd like to provide each one with the very best opportunity to try out new jokes each and every week. I feel as though the best way to accomplish that goal is for those interested in performing to follow the guidelines above.
