UPDATE 9.17.2020 – The screening of Hairspray has been moved to Saturday, May 15th, 2021. Tickets purchased for the April 18th or October 10th screenings will be honored for the rescheduled date.
When Tracy Turnblad (Ricki Lake), an overweight teen, auditions for a spot on a popular teen dance show, she beats out the spiteful Amber von Tussle (Colleen Fitzpatrick), winning over Amber’s boyfriend (Michael St. Gerard) in the process. After meeting some black students at her school, Tracy begins to push for more racial integration on the dance show. This gets her into trouble on many sides, especially with Amber’s pushy parents (Sonny Bono, Deborah Harry). Also stars Jerry Stiller, Waters regular Mink Stole, and Divine in her last role.
This screening of Hairspray is part of a two-day John Waters Festival which includes screening of Polyester on Friday, May 14th @ 9:45 PM and the live event This Filthy World: An Evening with John Waters on Saturday, May 15th @ 7:30 PM! All Live Event and Film Tickets Sold Separately.
