In this class we will discuss different types of knives, knife tangs, hardware for fastening scales (pins, cutler’s rivets & tubes), and handle materials. Students will choose a full-tang knife blade and handle material from a few choices, and then proceed through the steps of sawing out, rough shaping, riveting, and final shaping their knife. The finished handles will be fine sanded and polished, ready to take home.
