Gæðastund í Listasafni Íslands við Fríkirkjuveg 7
The Clock
Leiðsögn sérfræðings um hið margrómaða verk The Clock (2010) eftir svissnesk-bandaríska listamanninn Christian Marclay sem verður sýnt á Listasafni Íslands frá 2. maí til 22. júní 2025. Verkið er epískt, sólarhringslangt vídeóverk á einni rás með hljóði. The Clock hlaut Gyllta ljónið á Feneyjatvíæringnum árið 2011 og er almennt talið eitt merkasta listaverk 21. aldarinnar. Verkið er bæði djúpstæð hugleiðing um tímann og virðingarvottur við sögu kvikmyndalistarinnar.
Gæðastundir eru viðburðir sem ætlaðir eru eldri borgurum. Viðburðirnir eru samsettir úr sérsniðnum leiðsögnum og spjalli við sérfræðinga safnsins um myndlist, yfirstandandi sýningar og starfsemi.

The Clock by Christian Marclay
Specialist led tour about The Clock which is an epic, 24-hour single channel video with sound. Winner of the Golden Lion Award at the 2011 Venice Biennale and widely acclaimed as one of the most significant works of art of the 21st century, The Clock is both a profound meditation about time and an homage to the history of cinema. Marclay’s video is structured as a montage of thousands of film clips, in black and white and in color, collected over the course of three years.
The events calendar is aimed at senior citizens and is composed of specially designed tours as well as discussions with the museum´s experts on fine art, ongoing exhibitions and the work of the National Gallery of Iceland. The events create opportunities for guests to approach art and our national heritage from different perspectives.
The National Gallery´s Quality Moments events are always accompanied by coffee and pastries. The pastries are contributed by Kaktus Espressobar which sponsors the project.
