About this Event
This clinic is intended for intermediate climbers with knowledge of lead belaying, lead climbing, and basic multi-pitch skills.
In this session we'll cover some challenging scenarios that you may face during a multipitch and how to respond safely and efficiently. This is not intended to be a full "rock rescue" clinic, rather an introduction to the world of technical rope systems and "troubleshooting".
Some topics that will be covered include:
- Improvised rappels (if you drop a rappel device)
- lowering the follower from above
- hauling the follower
- rope ascension
Please bring the following gear:
- Harness
- locking carabiners
- belay device (gri-gri, atc guide, or similar)
- prussik cord
- slings
We will have gear available to borrow if you need!
