✨ Inspired by Gustav Klimt: A Mixed Media Workshop
Step into the opulent, golden world of Gustav Klimt in this four-hour adult workshop. Known for his richly detailed patterns, expressive figures, and luminous use of gold, Klimt’s art continues to inspire and captivate over a century later.
In this immersive class, you’ll explore Klimt’s unique style and techniques while creating your own mixed media artwork. Working with paint, pattern, texture, and metal leaf, you’ll learn how to bring depth, brilliance, and elegance to your piece—all while putting your own creative spin on his iconic aesthetic.
✨ All supplies are provided, and the small group size ensures plenty of one-on-one guidance. The class takes place in the inspiring arts hub cSPACE Marda Loop in SW Calgary.

During this workshop, participants will:
- 🎨 Discover Klimt’s Legacy – Learn about his artistic journey, influences, and signature use of ornamentation and symbolism.
- 🖌 Experiment with Mixed Media – Combine painting, drawing, and metal leafing techniques to build texture and visual interest.
- ✨ Work with Metal Leaf – Explore methods for applying and integrating shimmering gold (and other metallic) leaf into your artwork.
- 🌟 Design with Pattern & Symbolism – Use shapes, motifs, and personal symbols to echo Klimt’s decorative approach while expressing your own vision.
- 🖼 Create a Finished Artwork – Complete a striking mixed media piece ready to display or gift.
