PFLAG Springfield/SWMO and Moms Demand Action - MO invite you to kick off Pride Month with a presentation on responsible gun ownership and safety. LGBTQ+ people face higher risk of becoming victims of gun violence, and learning more about firearm responsibility and the impacts of gun violence is one way we can protect our community. Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. They know that gun violence is preventable, and are committed to doing what it takes to keep families safe. This presentation will utilize content from the Be SMART campaign. Be SMART was launched to raise awareness that secure gun storage—storing guns unloaded, locked, and separate from ammunition—can save lives.
Light refreshments will be served. ASL Interpretation available upon request - please let us know by May 27th if this is an accommodation that would be useful for you. The space will also be available starting at 7pm to join our monthly virtual support group.
