It's time for the GUMMS big summer trip. The suns out (hopefully), mini bus at the ready and lots of hills, beaches and chippies to explore. We are heading to Arisaig where you will be surrounded by classic west coast crofting lands with a backdrop of sea, sky and mountains. 🏔️You'll need to have munro experience, happy to walk 8hrs across rugged, rocky, steep and pathless terrain to Munro heights with some scrambling involved.
Sign ups will be in The Williams Room (AGM as well) this Tuesday 30th April at 7pm. There will be a £5 deposit to book on (we will have our card reader).
Costs are the £5 deposit plus approx £20-25 payment (£25-30 total) ** cost TBC** nearer the time. This covers minibus travel and accomodation in Arisaig hall. Saturday dinner is included. Please remember to bring food and any additional snacks for the hikes and money for the Friday and Sunday night.
We will leave university in the minibuses at 17:00/18:00 **TBC** on Friday 10th and return Sunday evening.
Packing List:
You'll need to have experience hiking for this trip and bring all the kit list as follows:
> Walking boots and socks
> Walking trousers / warm leggings (no jeans/joggers)
> Waterproof over trousers
> Sports tops x2
> Fleece
> Spare warm layer (down jacket or another fleece)
> Hat, gloves and buff
> Rucksack (with dry bags to keep clothing dry, plastic bags with work)
> Water bottle & lunchbox
> Sleeping bag
> Sleeping mat
> Pillow
> Evening clothes
> Swim trunks/costume & towel
> Toiletries ect.
Food (whilst there are cooking facilities at the hall (cooker and microwave etc) please keep things simple and bring as much food prepped as you can). We will be supplying Saturday dinner.:
- 2 lunches
- 2 breakfasts
- Plenty snacks
- Money for food on drive up and down (Friday and Sunday)
