About this Event
For almost four hundred years Woolwich Arsenal was used to build and test guns and ammunition. Visitors were not allowed, and it had the nickname of “ the secret city”. Since the military moved out in 1994 the area has been redeveloped and is now accessible without problems. We are going to explore with a special focus on the 20 or so listed buildings and through them tell the Arsenal story.
Our walk of two miles will take about 2 .5 hours and is accessible being on paved surfaces with no steps and just a few cobbled areas. There will be a short refreshment stop on the way.
Our meeting point is outside the Woolwich Elizabeth Line Station at 2PM
