A 3.5km guided walk from Beachy Head to Whitbread Hollow with Eastbourne Downland Ranger
About this Event

Our walk starts at the Beachy Head purchase Monument, opposite the car park, and will continue down into Whitbread Hollow and Frances Bottom. We'll cover what Chalk grassland is and it's importance for biodiversity, and we’ll also explore the story of the Eastbourne downland, from prehistory to the present day. We'll talk about how the council is restoring this precious landscape ,and how people can help.
Paid parking at Beachy Head. Walk will be approx 3.5km, and will be mostly flat ground, although there is one fairly steep decline as we'll decend into Frances Bottom , and one longer incline as we come back up from Whitbread Hollow, so a decent level of fitness is required. Please wear appropriate footwear, wear suitable clothing for the weather, and bring some water.
