Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery offers this monthly guided tour Stories in Stone.
Every first Saturday at Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery .
Stores in Stone is a monthly tour that explores other areas of the cemetery. Each month is either the North Tour or South Tour- both are separate and unique tours!
10 a.m. – 12 p.m., meet at the Soldier’s Memorial.
“I enjoyed the Historical Tour – I’ve taken it twice! – but what about the rest of the cemetery? What is that structure? Who is this and why is their name familiar? Is this granite? What does this symbol mean?”
Lone Fir is 30 acres and 25,000 (est.) burials. It’s too much for one two-hour tour.
We’ve created two tours: one covers the area north of the main road, the other covers the area south. We alternate each month.
The tour will begin at the Soldiers Monument at 10am in the center of the cemetery and will last approximately 2 hours. Donations/tickets are $10 and you can reserve a spot in advance on our website.
We highly advise that you obtain tickets in advance since we will keep a limit of 30 people to maintain social distancing. We will allow for walk ups but we will be diligent upon maintaining the headcount for the tours at 30- this includes FLFC volunteers. That total will be split into two groups to also ensure this measure.
