Join me in this guided Relaxation Practice designed to leave you feeling grounded and restored.
In this session, we will work through a systematic relaxation practice designed to disengage the mind from the physical senses and rest in a state of inner awareness. The place that exists between full consciousness in the outer world and deep sleep.
Relaxation practices are powerful tools to help find a sense of true calm and rest in the body. In busy lives that can feel full and overwhelming, rest can often feel hard to come by! This session will give you time and guidance to access a place that feels truly at rest.
π©΅ What is a Relaxation Practice? π©΅
Think of a relaxation practice as a systematic guided meditation that brings focus to the body and the breath to help you access the more subtle states of being. The practice will begin with a little movement to help still the body followed by guided mediation which is taken lying down in a supported and comfortable position.
This type of practice is used in preparation for deeper more traditional Yoga Nidra Practices. Whilst it is true that the afterglow of Yoga Nidra can feel like you've had the most amazing nap of your life, it is important to acknowledge that this is not the traditional intention of the practice. In its purest form Yoga Nidra is intended to wake you up to the truest parts of yourself. Connecting you with your essential nature and developing awareness in all states of waking.
This kind of exploration can take time and practice so think of relaxation practices as a wonderful place to start!
π©΅Does it matter if I have never meditated before? π©΅
No, not at all. Due to the nature of a relaxation practice it makes it a very accessible start to meditation with continual guidance that helps you stay focused and present throughout. If you are new to practice, then you may find you drop off to sleep but that's okay - that's exactly why you come along, to practice!
π©΅What should I bring?π©΅
- Wear your comfiest clothes - things that feel nice and won't distract you throughout the practice! Think loose and stretchy!!
- Pillow (optional but can be nice if you are not used to laying on the floor)
- Cozy socks
- Blanket
That's it!
As always - reach out if you have any questions! There is a limited number of spots so make sure to book to avoid disappointment on the day!
