About the Preserve: Caracara Prairie Preserve is one of Conservation Collier's oldest preserves. The preserve features a 2.6 mile loop trail that winds through palm and oak hammocks, seasonal marshes, pine flatwoods, and improved pasture habitats. Many species of wading birds, raptors, migratory birds, and more can be observed, including the namesake - the Crested Caracara, whom often nests in the preserve. Some parts of the trail may be muddy, uneven, and in full sun.
