About this Event
Join local guide Paul Murdoch for a fascinating tour round the history and heritage of Dalmuir. From Dalmuir Park (this year celebrating its 120th anniversary) to shipbuilding, the Blitz and the canal, explore the area’s many stories. The walk finishes at Improving Lives on Dumbarton Road, where you can visit their open day and learn more about the captivating history of their building.
The walk is taking place as part of the West Dunbartonshire Heritage Festival, Our Stories.
Accessibility
The route is flat with a smooth surface except for one section which is fairly steep. Please make us aware of any accessibilty requirements when booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Tickets
The walk is free but numbers are limited, please book your space on Eventbrite. If the walks are oversubscribed we will keep a waiting list and if any tickets become available we will release these close to the event.
Weather
We will keep an eye on the weather and keep our fingers crossed for a dry day! If we need to postpone the walk due to weather we will contact everyone the day before to let you know.
What to bring
Please come dressed for the weather, wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring a bottle of water.

Public transport
The start of the walk is around a 15 minute walk from Dalmuir train station.
Several buses stop along Dumbarton Road which is around a 10 minute walk from the meeting point.
