About this Event
Join us for our Community Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by dinner and special guest speaker David Bocarsly. Bocarsly is the Executive Director of Jewish California (formerly JPAC), and he will share his journey and how his organization successfully got California to commit to protect K-12 Jewish students from antisemitism.
Jewish California is the Jewish community's voice in Sacramento and the nation's largest statewide coalition of Jewish organizations. Jewish California comprises 41 leading Jewish community organizations.
Since Bocarsly assumed leadership in 2022, Jewish California has secured more than $460 million in state funding for Jewish priorities and advocated for 57 successful bills, including AB 715 – a first-in-the-nation bill to address antisemitism in California schools.
The evening at Mishkon will begin with services, which are free and open to everyone; registration is required for dinner. Our guest speaker will talk during dinner. Dinner is $36 for Mishkon members and $46 for non-members.
