A group of Guelph residents has begun exploring the creation of a Community Land Trust to secure permanently affordable housing and steward land for long-term community and ecological benefit. Community Land Trusts are non-profit organizations that acquire and hold land in trust, removing it from the speculative market and ensuring it remains affordable and responsibly managed over time.This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the Community Land Trust model, hear about early discussions, and help shape what this could look like in Guelph. We will share a draft mission and vision, discuss potential pathways for acquiring and stewarding property, and invite input from others who are interested in housing affordability, ecological responsibility, and community-based ownership.
Whether you are simply curious, interested in participating, or have experience to share, you are welcome to attend.
