About the Artists
Beth Anne Ellipsis is a Guelph based performance poet. She crafts her words to reflect the lives of herself and those around her. Her work is earth inspired and speaks to the struggle we all face to find our true self and place in community. She is the founder of Guelph Spoken Word, a performance poetry arts org; fostering poetic space for your voice in public dialogue. She has competed in multiple national slam competitions, written commissioned poems and facilitated student workshops.
(she/her) works primarily in drawing, painting, and textiles. This work extends to murals, illustration, and installation pieces. Her practice revolves around the body, emotions and the psychological experience of being a sensitive human. Alexa currently works as an Art Educator at the Elora Centre for the Arts, a bookmaker at PS Guelph, and she co-founded Outlet in 2020 with Maeve Hind. Since then, she has engaged community members in facilitated art experiences. She is also pursuing a Master of Teaching degree at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in Toronto.
