About this Event
Synopsis
In celebration of Georgetown University Dance Company’s 50th anniversary season, this year’s Spring Dance Concert “Ascend” reflects on the growth and evolution of the dance company, while exploring messages that celebrate the value of dance as a medium for self, social, and cultural expression.
This performance will feature dances in a variety of styles including classical ballet, musical theatre jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and jazz fusion styles. The show features 8 student works, as well as works by GUDC’s 2024- 25 Professional Guest Artists-in-Residence, Stephanie Dorrycott, and Maurice Johnson, with classical ballet variations set by Quinn Fieldstone. The show will conclude with a full company piece choreographed by GUDC's Faculty Artistic Director, Professor Raina Lucas, in collaboration with student members.
