On Friday 12th June, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, Heritage Malta invites you to journey back to 1687, when Grand Master Gregorio Carafa laid the first stone of the enceinte of Fort St Elmo.As the sun sets over Valletta, discover how this new enceinte enclosed the fort within the wider fortification lines of the capital, reshaping and strengthening its defensive role. Explore the stories behind Fort St Elmo’s impressive bastions and curtain walls, and trace the evolution of its military architecture from the era of the Order of St John through to the Second World War.
