Abstract
As a company’s cybersecurity organization matures, in-house detection and threat intelligence becomes a higher priority without a budget to match. But building a robust and reliable detection library is achievable with the people and technology stack already in place - whether that’s as a standalone security team and SIEM, a wraparound 24/7 SOC partner, or a mix of both.
This talk explores how to identify meaningful and industry-relevant alerting behaviors, analyze and prioritize coverage gaps, and apply development best practices to scale library maintenance.

Hilary Farrell is a detection engineer and "SIEM whisperer" with a passion for transforming complex data sets into actionable insights. She specializes in use case development, front- and back-end platform engineering, forensic log capture, cybersecurity triage, DFIR, and cross-team collaboration.
