The 2024 Good Shepherd Institute (GSI) Conference will be celebrating the 500th anniversary of the first Lutheran hymns with a hymn festival of its own, “Through the Church the Song Goes On: 500 Years of Hymnody in 90 Minutes." The festival will take place Monday, November 11, at 7:30 p.m. EST in Kramer Chapel.Participants in the service will include the Seminary Kantorei, under the direction of Kantor Kevin Hildebrand, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic brass, and Kantor Matthew Machemer on organ.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will wrap up the series of special music events of the GSI Conference. For more details about the conference, including registration information, visit ctsfw.edu/gsi. Please note that you do not need to register for the conference to attend the hymn festival.
