GRWebDev Powered by LaFleur presents James Lund
Go Build Something New
Start Garden (2 Fulton St. W, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503)
Monday, April 27th 2026, 6pm - 8pm
DESCRIPTION
Are you feeling bored with the same old frameworks? Struggling to find personal gratification behind the things you create at work? It might be time to build something for yourself.
This month, GRWebDev President James Lund will walk us through his recent journey building terminal applications with the Go programming language and how it re-ignited his joy of building things for fun. We’ll cover projects including system loggers, an HTTP API for a Raspberry Pi, and a terminal-based grocery app that he’ll probably never use… all for the sake of having fun.
Join us on Monday, April 27th at The Vault at Start Garden! We’ll kick things off at 6pm ET.
OUR PRESENTER
is a full-stack senior software developer and tech lead at SPARK Business Works. He’s a problem solver who's determined to bring harmony between nature and technology. By day, James helps local businesses upgrade their digital infrastructure. By night, he advocates for others by volunteering at organizations such as Django Girls, Code for Good West Michigan, and of course, GRWebDev.
