Este mes estaremos leyendo Huaco Retrato de la escritora peruana Gabriela Wiener.
Es una novela de autoficción, escrita con un tono irreverente y humorístico que explora temas como racismo, identidad, heridas familiares, relaciones amorosas no tradicionales y colonialismo.
En este libro, Wiener investiga su propio árbol genealógico al descubrir que su apellido proviene del mismo hombre que robó miles de “huacos” (cerámicas precolombinas) para exhibirlos en París.

This month, we will be reading Huaco Retrato by Peruvian author Gabriela Wiener.
It’s an autobiographical novel where Wiener investigates her own family tree when she discovers that her last name comes from the same man who stole thousands of “huacos” (pre-Hispanic pottery) to exhibit in Paris, exploring themes like racism, identity, family wounds, non-traditional relationships and colonialism in an irreverent and humorous tone.
