Join us for a special series of parenting classes in collaboration with the amazing therapists from Tosa Pediatrics! Each month, we’ll explore a different topic to support you through the ups and downs of parenting—from toddler tantrums to anxiety. This monthly workshop series is designed to give parents evidence-based tools, expert insight, and a whole lot of reassurance. Led by pediatricians, child psychologists, and specialists from Tosa Pediatrics, each class tackles a real-life parenting topic—from tantrums and big feelings to pre-teen transitions.
This presentation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the mental health challenges faced by pre-teens (ages 9-12) and how parents and caregivers can help support their emotional well-being. As pre-teens experience significant changes in their social, emotional, and physical development, they are increasingly vulnerable to stress, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and peer pressure.
Key topics covered in the session include:
1. Understanding Pre-Teen Development: A breakdown of the cognitive, emotional, and social changes that pre-teens go through and how these impact their mental health.
2. Common Mental Health Concerns: Identifying common mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bullying, and body image concerns, along with recognizing early signs and symptoms.
3. Promoting Healthy Habits: Simple strategies for encouraging emotional resilience, including fostering healthy communication, self-care routines, and building self-confidence.
4. The Role of Adults in Mental Health: Offering resources, guidance, and tools for parents and caregivers to better support their pre-teens and access professional help if needed.
