About this Event
The Grief Garden is a community-led project that invites anyone experiencing grief to come together to create a garden as a space for acceptance, connection, and healing. In the garden, you are welcome to express and explore your grief in ways that feel right for you, while working alongside others to design, plant and care for a garden that grows with the community.
Through working with nature, the garden encourages a gentle, reciprocal relationship between humans and the natural world and aims to make space for grief to be, without pressure to ‘get better’. Together we hope to help normalise conversations about death and loss within our lives and wider society.
You are warmly invited to join our weekly gardening group and become part of a peer-to-peer community exploring grief through gardening. This is not a therapy or grief support service, but a welcoming space to reflect, connect and grow alongside others.
Getting to us: if driving, please park at Wood Hall Hotel (LS22 4JA) and walk to the Walled Garden. Directions can be found and it takes less than 5 minutes. At one point it looks a little like you are walking through private gardens but please be assured this is a public pathway.
Please note that it is not currently accessible for wheelchair users. The sessions are for adults only.
