About this Event
Grow Your Own Veg + Seed Saving — a practical, confidence-building day at Grassroots Garden CIC (Redruth).
This workshop is for anyone who wants to grow their own food — whether you’re starting from scratch or you’ve tried before and want a clearer, simpler approach.
You’ll learn on a real working site: Grassroots Garden CIC is 2.5 acres, with around 1 acre in market garden production,3 polytunnels, wildlife-friendly plantings, and the early stages of a food forest. We’ll use the central polytunnel as a classroom and undercover space, and move between indoor/outdoor practical sessions depending on the weather and topic.
I’m Dan — Permaculture Design Certificate + Level 4 qualified in Regenerative Agriculture — and I grow a wide mix of crops here in Cornwall. Alongside veg growing for dozens of weekly veg bags for local households, I focus on seed saving and diverse plant populations for resilience and local adaptation.
Small-group + bespoke to the people who come
We’ll start with a quick check-in on everyone’s space, goals and challenges, then steer examples, demos and Q&A towards what’s most useful for the group. Numbers are capped so everyone gets proper attention.
