About this Event

In our fast-paced, digital world, it can be easy to neglect the importance of deep, meaningful conversations, especially about sex and love. However, communication is the foundation of any successful relationship, and in this session, we will explore reflectivel tools to help you explore your desires, fears, and hopes.

It doesn’t matter if you feel that you know yourself inside out, or if you feel that you have no idea what pleasure is all about, there is room for everyone. We will share insights, stories and experiences. There might be lots of laughter, and a few tears. We will embrace the human and encourage moments of aliveness.

Led by a qualified therapist at Self Space, this session will help you:

  • Develop practical techniques to build awareness around pleasure and foster resilient relationships that will improve your emotional and mental well-being.
  • Investigate feeling relaxed, recharged and with a renewed energy for pleasure and intimacy in your life.
  • Connections with a community of people who are all looking to improve their sex lives and build lasting, meaningful connections with themselves and others

Therapist-Facilitator:

Ryan Campinho Valadas

Ryan is a queer-identifying and LGBTQIA+-affirming integrative therapist. His approach is flexible, compassionate, and reflective. He is interested in the influence of social and cultural dynamics in our lives and uses this framework to support others in finding clarity and relief from overwhelming anxieties and pressures.

Ryan has a varied clinical experience as an individual, couples, and group therapist, and has worked with substance misuse, sexual health, LGBTQIA + wellbeing, general adult mental health, and children’s mental health within education. This has given him a well-rounded understanding of a person’s lifespan, as well as the importance of relationships in our lives. His main intention is to facilitate people in building better connections to their identities, desires, relationships, and life journeys.

In addition to therapeutic experience, Ryan has worked extensively in LGBTQIA+ advocacy and wellbeing, through work in youth work settings, schools, charities, committees, and academia. He is also an experienced public speaker and workshop creator and facilitator.
