Join us to reconnect with nature on an educational family-friendly group walk!
About this Event

Join us on an outdoor adventure, a family-friendly group walk through King’s Mill Park North led by EcoSpark’s Citizen Science Program Manager, Dana Buchbinder to learn more about science in our urban parks, and building community through learning.

About the hike:

"Get involved with hands-on eco science and help us conduct a biodiversity survey to see what’s living in Toronto’s parks!”

Dana will share her love for outdoor education, species identification and citizen science with iNaturalist!

About Dana:

Dana is an active member of the Citizen Science Association. She graduated in 2012 with a Masters of Environmental Management degree from Duke University, where she loved field studies that had her buzzing with bumblebees. She has supported research on the Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Atlas (Ontario Nature), community air sensors (U.S. EPA), and Delaware StreamWatch (Ashland Nature Center) citizen science projects. Dana leads EcoSpark’s citizen science programs, including the School Watch and Park Watch programs.

About the organizers:

EcoSpark is an organization providing applied science, environmental science workshops in schools, and taking corporate groups on volunteer team-oriented missions to provide opportunities for everyone to build a connection to nature. EcoSpark gives the tools and awareness to current and future leaders to help inspire care and preservation for the world around us.
