“Two Events in One” for Wednesday, May 20th. All are invited to attend ONE or BOTH options for a different twist on a Wednesday: 1. TOUR: At 10:30 a.m. we will meet at the lobby of Q-Bo Skyhomes lobby. This condo building is located at Calle 80A in the Rohrmoser neighborhood of San Jose and across from Parque Cafe. Uber there or there’s e-park digital meters all around the park. We will start our 90 minute tour at Q-Bo’s lobby and discuss this neighborhood developed in the 1950’s, its original use as a coffee plantation, see some of the mid-century modern homes, discuss the 20+ mid to high-rise residential buildings that are rapidly changing the neighborhood, visit both Parque Cafe and Parque Peru, discuss Parque Metropolitano la Sabana, and pass by the home of former President Oscar Arias Sanchez. Three special doors of Rohrmoser will also be highlighted and we will hopefully meet one local artist on the tour! Who is he? That’s a surprise!
2. LUNCH: At noon and after the tour we will return to the same area where the tour started and have lunch at Rural Nunciatura on Avenida 3, San Jose. It’s “CR comfort food.” This newer restaurant is also located across from Parque Cafe and is housed in a former mid-century modern house that was recently converted into a commercial property.
