About this Event
Pilates with purpose.
Ground[work] is where movement meets meaning — a somatic storytelling experience connecting the body to social consciousness.
In this session, we explore how erasure in education ripples through our communities and within ourselves. Through conversation and movement, we’ll transform reflection into embodiment — grounding what we learn, releasing what we carry, and reclaiming the right to feel, breathe, and move freely.
Led by certified mat Pilates instructor, journalist and wellness curator Samantha Gholar, this class includes a 30-minute community dialogue with Yoleidy Rosario-Hernandez (Arts Activist & Educator) and Akio (President, New College Black Student Union), followed by a guided Pilates-based flow rooted in release and reconnection.
No prior Pilates experience is needed — just curiosity, presence, and an open heart.
Expect real stories, restorative movement, and space to breathe together.
