About this Event
This November, join us for a Gratitude and Grounding Wellness Workshop on Sunday, November 10 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM at Spicez, located at 1610 Wisconsin Ave NW in Washington, DC.
In this 90-minute session, you will be guided through a meditation and gentle movement, reflective journaling prompts and a creative activity. Our intentions for this workshop are to:
- Explore gratitude as a tool for inner strength and resilience
- Learn and practice grounding techniques you can carry with you beyond the workshop
- Cultivate community connection through mindfulness
What to Expect:
- An inviting and comfortable space with chair and floor seating options
- 90 minutes of guided wellness exercises and experiences with times for personal reflection and opportunity to share out communally
- Bring an open mind and curious spirit
- Optional: Your favorite journal and pen for reflection, however, materials will be provided onsite for attendees
Your Facilitators
Krista (she/her/hers) is a clinical social worker and therapist by training who uses creative expression as a way to help people connect and heal. Through art, reflection, and other creative outlets, Krista helps others explore their stories, build community, and find meaningful ways to grow and heal. Krista’s approach is all about making space for honest conversations, fostering empathy, and encouraging personal and collective growth in a way that feels inclusive and supportive.
Krista is a Midwest transplant who moved to Washington, DC in 2017 and has committed her practice to trauma-informed interventions, bringing a lens of integration and connectedness to behavior, thought and emotion through the creative experience.
Krista offers art-themed, wellness workshops throughout the DMV area, to include upcoming themes of anxiety, loneliness, boundaries, rest, transitions and companionship.
Valentina (she/her/ella) is a yoga teacher trainee (YTT-200H) with a deep love for storytelling and community building. She believes in the transformative power of writing to reshape personal narratives.
She discovered yoga over a decade ago, and rooted her practice after moving to Washington, DC in 2017. Drawing from her background in international development and certifications in storytelling and facilitation, she brings a global lens into the wellness space. Her mission is to foster intentional, culturally relevant, and trauma-informed environments where individuals can embrace self-care practices.
Valentina offers journaling and wellness workshops throughout the DMV area, creating safe spaces for people to explore and express their most authentic versions.
