Groundhog Day is one of my favorite non mainstream holidays as it's one of the earliest signs that winter is coming to an end soon. Plus, with holidays that don't have set traditions, we can celebrate however we like. I have reserved the party room at The Pottery Place at the Fayette Mall, so we can have our own private space to hang out, relax, and celebrate spring coming. I have paid for the room, but everyone will be responsible for their own pottery/bills. You can select what you would like to paint from the store. It will take about a week to process to dry and go through the kiln before it is ready for pickup. The Pottery Place does encourage all ages to participate. The website states that prices start at $7. I'll post the link at the bottom.
We are allowed to bring food and drinks to the party room. I'll provide some light snacks like "groundhog food" (a veggie platter). You're welcome to bring snacks/drinks as well if you like, but you don't have to. I do ask that there is no alcohol since this is a family-friendly event with children present. If you would like a drink afterward, there is a restaurant next door. Please wash your hands after handling food and before returning to the pottery per The Pottery Place.
The party room holds up to 25 people. If more than that shows up, we are allowed to overflow into the main area of the business that is open to the public. You can come and stay for as little or as long as you like arriving when you are available, but we only have the party room from 2:00 - 3:30 pm. If you want to stay after the event time to continue painting, you will need to check with an employee. I'm not sure how moving everything from one area to the other would go.
The Pottery Place has been very nice and welcoming, allowing us to have this event at their business, so please be kind and respectful of any rules they have while we are there. Thank you!
