About this Event
Session 1: Marketing is not about selling out — it’s about standing in your story with clarity and intention. As Indigenous artists, we carry lineage, culture, and lived experience in our work. This workshop reframes marketing as a tool for sovereignty, sustainability, and visibility. Participants will complete a guided worksheet to build a personalized marketing map they can use immediately.
1. Your Artist Bio
Craft a clear, professional introduction that shares who you are, where you come from, and what you create — adaptable for websites, grants, galleries, and press.
2. Your Artist Statement
Define the deeper why behind your work. Clarify your themes, materials, influences, and the cultural or community values that guide your practice.
3. The 4 P’s of Marketing (through an Indigenous lens)
- Product – What are you offering, and what makes it distinct?
- Price – How do you value your time, skill, and cultural knowledge sustainably?
- Place – Where does your work live? Markets, galleries, online platforms, community spaces?
- Promotion – How do you share your work in ways that feel aligned and authentic?
Say no to just 'exposure' — make it about alignment. When your message is clear, your work travels further.
Session 2: Our stories deserve to be seen — not just the finished piece, but the process, the practice, the spirit behind the work.
In this one-hour session, we’ll explore how Indigenous makers and artists can use social media to build visibility, narrative sovereignty, and collective uplift. This workshop centers strategy without losing authenticity.
This is about presence. Visibility is power. When we share process, we strengthen ourselves. Come ready to rethink how you show up online — with clarity, confidence, and cultural integrity.
